Society History
The Society was started by a few friends at the end of 1999. After some hard work from Jay we were able to negotiate some deals with various clubs to play golf at reduced green fees as a society. Within six months we had invited Allan Ebsworth to join from the 'unofficial Unigate Golf Society' swelling our numbers to nearly twenty people.
As we have continued throughout the past twenty years our number of members has now grown to 25. Its success has been the enthusiasm of all the members and maintaining our core values, namely cheap golf at the best courses possible, having a good laugh with your friends and investing all monies back into the society to keep green fees as low as possible.
Many of our current members were there at the Society's inception and we have had many new faces joining over the years who have all helped in making the Society as successful as it is today. Thank you all and I am looking forward to the next ten years (and probably lots more!).
